It's my first day working at the cookie factory tomorrow. It makes me think about another factory. A New York based one. Andy Warholes factory… Think it might have beena bit different compared to the Byron Bay Cookie Company one. Even tho they both create great products… Andys factory was in a way responsible for bit of punk culture since he marketed the Velvet Underground with Nico and Lou Reed and they inspired other people like Iggy and the Stooges, New York Dolls, Patti Smith and Ramones witch led on to Six Pistols, Blondie, Hanoi Rocks etc. If my coworkers will be half as interesting as I imagine Andys factory workers were, I'll be super happy!

Let There Be Light!

Jason Deuro makes lamps out of anything. To show that anything can be reused or recycled. That anything, everything can be anything and everything. Things are maybe not only what we first think they are, what they look like. Encouraging people to think outside of that jewellery box. It's very very necessary if we're gonna be able to keep this planet alive... Sustainable design/art/thinking. Super inspiering, makes me wanna go create!

Wild and Free

I belive it's impossible to live in Byron Bay and never get the slightest bit inspired by hippies. After all...if it wasn't for hippies Byron wouldn't be the place it is today. It all started after the aquarius festival in Nimbin, outside Byron in 1973.
Images from Elle Spain,  Free people, Kasthall (patchwork carpet), Pucci and Jodi Foster from the movie Taxi Driver.

Indian Summer

Paintings by JD Challenger, photos and drawings by unknown artist.

Shamans of differant cultures, inspired by the wonderful, lingering indian summer in Byron. I have In the Death Car by Iggy Pop and Goran Bregovic on repeat in my headphones and tonight I'm watching one of my all time favourite movies by Emir Kusturica, Arizona Dream.
